Instagram posts: using natural language to drive web traffic
By Sofía Sánchez González
You’re probably aware that Instagram is one of the most popular social networks around. And with over a billion active users globally (that’s the same as the entire population of North and South America), it’s no surprise it has become the go-to platform for celebrities to share their daily goings on with followers and build brand interest.
How many times have you come across an article referencing a photo that a celebrity has posted on Instagram? As this type of content typically generates a lot of web traffic, media platforms are keen to report on the most popular new photos as quickly as possible.
There is, however, a problem with the way this is currently done. Columnists simply can’t keep an eye on every single photo posted by a celebrity. Apart from being an impossible task, it takes away valuable time from other more important investigative work.
In response to this challenge, pioneer startup Narrativa has developed a solution – natural language generation. 💡
Automatic summaries of trending posts
At Narrativa, we generate articles about an Instagram personality’s most popular photos automatically. We can create two, three, four, or as many as our clients need for their sites: there’s no limit.
Here’s how we do it:
1⃣ We identify a group of influencers
2⃣ Our proprietary algorithm identifies posts that have achieved the most interactions (impressions, likes, comments)
3⃣ We add a text with the celebrity’s biography and data such as the number of followers or interactions achieved
To illustrate this, here’s an example (in Spanish) of an article we generated for one of our clients:

We’ve found that these articles achieve excellent results in terms of visits, and the automatic generation of these narratives frees journalists from manual work and helps media outlets to improve engagement.
Robust SEO results
The content we generate at Narrativa always takes SEO positioning into account. Our main concern is that our clients achieve great results, and the best way to do this is to customize content in a strategic way.
The automation of these articles is just one example of how we save time for the media industry. From creating financial narratives for news outlets such as The Wall Street Journal, to ecommerce solutions describing 3,000 mobile phone descriptions in a matter of seconds, our natural language solutions span all sectors.
